Grandma Susan's Brownies

My mom always made the best brownies! Rich and fudgy and oh so good!!! This recipe has been a staple in our home, requested for birthdays and special occasions!

YES - the recipe really does call for 8 eggs!


  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 8 slightly beaten eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt


Preheat oven to 350°

Melt BUTTER in a pan on the stove. While melting stir in COCOA. When butter and cocoa are fully mixed transfer to a stand mixer bowl. 

Gradually add 3 cups SUGAR to butter and cocoa and mix until incorporated. 

Add in the 8 slightly beaten EGGS. After they are mixed well slowly add 3 cups FLOUR and 1 tsp SALT. Scrape sides of bowl to make sure it is all mixed well.

Pour batter into greased jelly roll pan and cook for 25 - 30 minutes.

Let cook and frost!
